Change CNN settings

To access your settings:

• Open the CNN app and then tap the Settings icon (lower right).

Here you'll find the following options:

Account

If you're signed in to a CNN account, tap Account Settings to do the following:

• Change profile photo: Tap your profile photo, choose a new profile photo, and then choose Save.
• Display name: To change your display name, go to CNN.com/account/settings.
• Change email: To change your CNN account email, please contact us.
• Sign out: Tap Sign Out of CNN.
• Delete account: Choose Delete My Account and then choose Delete.

Add a password to your CNN account

If you signed up for CNN using your Apple or Google account, you can add a password to your CNN account. This way you can sign in with your CNN account email and password on any device.

To add a password:

• Choose Add a password, sign in to your Apple or Google account, enter a password for your CNN account, and choose Save.

Connect TV provider

If you get CNN through your TV provider, tap Connect TV provider, select your TV provider, and then sign in to your TV provider account. For more info, go to Connect your TV provider.

If you've already connected your TV provider, you'll see their name here.

Manage subscription

If your account has a CNN subscription, you'll find who you subscribed through (e.g. subscribed via CNN website or Apple) and your subscription plan (Basic or All Access). If you need help changing your plan, go to CNN subscription plans.

To change your payment info, go to Change your payment. For help canceling, go to Cancel your CNN subscription.

App Preferences

Edition

Choose between U.S. and International. Your edition determines which content you get in the Top News section.

Alerts

Tap Alerts and then turn notifications on or off for different topics, like Breaking News, Climate Crisis or US Politics.

Android Notification Settings

Tap Android Notification Settings to change your alert settings for the CNN app (e.g. sound or vibration). For more info, see Notifications on Android.

iOS Notification Settings

To change your notification settings for the CNN app, go to Settings > Notifications (on your iOS device), and choose CNN. For more info, see Notifications on iOS.

Enable 'This is CNN'

Turn on this option if you want to hear the 'This is CNN' sound when opening the CNN app.

To access your settings:

• At CNN.com, choose your profile icon (upper right) and then Settings.

Here you'll find the following options:

Profile photo A photo that represents you (upper left). To change your profile photo, click your profile photo, choose a new photo, and then choose Save.

Basic Info

• Display name
• Email address
• First name
• Last name
• Zip code

To change an item, choose the corresponding Edit button. If forgot your email or password, go to Forgot CNN email or password? To change your CNN account email, please contact us.

Add a password to your CNN account

If you signed up for CNN using your Apple or Google account, you can add a password to your CNN account. This way you can sign in with your CNN account email and password on any device.

To add a password:

• Choose Add a password, sign in to your Apple or Google account, enter a password for your CNN account, and choose Save.

Connected accounts

You can connect your Google or Apple account by choosing Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. Once connected, you can sign in to CNN using your Google or Apple account.

To remove a connected account, choose Disconnect Google or Disconnect Apple.

Manage or cancel current subscription

If your account has a CNN subscription, you'll find who you subscribed through (e.g. subscribed via CNN website or Apple) and your subscription plan (Basic or All Access). If you need help changing your plan, go to CNN subscription plans.

To change your payment info, go to Change your payment. For help canceling, go to Cancel your CNN subscription.

Newsletters

Here you can subscribe and unsubscribe from CNN newsletters sent to your account email address. To learn more, see App notifications and emails.

Manage Account

If you want to delete your CNN account, choose Delete account and then choose Delete account again to confirm.

To access your settings:

• In the CNN app, choose Settings (gear icon, upper right).

Here you'll find the following options:

Account

If you're signed in with a CNN account, you'll find your account email and the option to sign out. If you're not signed in, you can sign in or sign up.

If you want to change your account email or password, go to Your CNN account

TV Provider

If you've connected your TV provider account, you'll find your TV provider's name.

If you get CNN via your TV provider and you haven't connected your TV provider, choose Connect now, select your TV provider, and sign in to your TV provider account.
