Forgot CNN email or password?

If you don't know your CNN account email or password, here are a few things to try:

Find your email address in Settings

If you're signed in on a device, here's how to find your account email:

  1. Open the CNN app or go to cnn.com.
  2. Do the following:
    • Phone or tablet: Choose the Settings icon.
    • TV device: Choose Settings (gear icon, left edge).
    • Computer: Choose your profile icon (upper right), then choose Settings.
  3. Take note of your account email address.
Try resetting your password

Here's how to reset your password:

  1. Open the CNN app or go to cnn.com.
  2. On your phone or tablet, tap the Settings icon and then Sign in to your CNN Account. On a computer, choose Sign In (upper right).
  3. Choose Forgot password?
  4. Enter your account email address and choose Send reset link.
  5. Check your inbox for a ‘Reset Your CNN Password’ email sent by CNN. This email should arrive within a few minutes.
    No Reset Password Email?
    This means the email you entered isn't in use by a CNN account. Try signing in with your Apple or Google account (on the sign-in screen, choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple). If this doesn't work, your account may have a different email address. Repeat these steps for each of your email addresses.
  6. Open the ‘Reset Your CNN Password’ email and choose Reset Password.
  7. Enter a new password and then choose Reset Password.

Search your inbox
  • Search all of your email accounts for an email from or about CNN (search for CNN). Once you find the email account with CNN emails, try signing in using this email address (or enter this email address when you reset your password).
  • Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions and Spam).
Mistyped account email or no longer have access

If you no longer have access to the email associated with your CNN account or you mistyped your email when you created your account, please contact us.

Can't reset password

You should get a password reset email a few minutes after you request to reset your password. Check your inbox for a Reset Your CNN Password email sent by CNN (CNN@transactional.cnn.com). If you don't get this email, try the following:

  • Search all of your inbox folders for an email from CNN (including your Promotions and Spam folder). Try searching for: CNN Password or just CNN.

If you don't find a reset password email, here are a few possible reasons:

  • You signed up with your Apple or Google account. If you signed up with your Apple or Google account, then your CNN account may not have a password. Try signing in with your Apple or Google account. To do this, choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple on the CNN sign-in screen (instead of entering an email and password).
  • Email not associated with an account. The email address you entered (after choosing Forgot password) is not in use by a CNN account. Do you have another email address? Try the forgot password steps again, but with another email address of yours.
  • Mistyped email address? You may have mistyped your email address when you created your account. If you're signed in on a device, here's how to find your account email:
    1. Open the CNN app or go to cnn.com.
    2. Do one of the following:
      • Phone or tablet: Tap the Settings icon (lower right).
      • TV device: Choose Settings (gear icon, left edge).
      • Computer: Choose your profile icon (upper right), then choose Settings.
    3. Take note of your account email address. If you mistyped your email address, please contact us.
  • Don't have access to email? If you don't have access to the email address associated with your CNN account, please contact us.

Change email address or password

To change your password, sign out of your CNN account and then choose Forgot password? on the sign-in screen.
