Change CNN settings

To access your settings:

• Open the CNN app and then tap the Settings icon (lower right).

Here you'll find the following options:

Account

If you're logged in to a CNN account, tap Account Settings to do the following:

• Change profile photo: Tap your profile photo, choose a new profile photo, and then choose Set as my profile photo.
• Change name or ZIP Code: Tap the edit box, type your name or ZIP Code, and then tap Save.
• Change email: To change the email address associated with your CNN account, please contact us.
• Log out: Tap Log Out of CNN.
• Delete account: Choose Delete My Account and then choose Delete.

Saved Stories

Here you'll find articles and videos that you've saved. You can open, delete, and share saved items.

Access Live TV

If you get CNN with your TV package, tap Access Live TV and then log in with your TV provider.

Cable provider verified

If you're logged in with your TV provider, you'll see their name here.

App Preferences

Edition

Choose between U.S. and International. Your edition determines which content you get in the Top News section.

Alerts

Tap Alerts and then turn notifications on or off for different topics, like Breaking News, Climate Crisis or US Politics.

Android Notification Settings

Tap Android Notification Settings to change your alert settings for the CNN app (e.g. sound or vibration). For more info, see Notifications on Android.

iOS Notification Settings

To change your notification settings for the CNN app, go to Settings > Notifications (on your iOS device), and then choose CNN. For more info, see Notifications on iOS.

Enable 'This is CNN'

Turn on this option if you want to hear the 'This is CNN' sound when opening the CNN app.

Listen & Go

Turn on this option to continue listening to Live TV audio when you switch to another app or turn off your screen. To listen to a live CNN channel, choose the Audio icon (bottom edge), and then choose a CNN channel.

Do not sell my information

If you are a California resident, you can opt-out of sharing your personal information with third parties. To learn more, see CNN privacy.

To access your settings:

• At cnn.com, choose your profile icon (upper right) and then Settings.

Here you'll find the following options:

Profile photo

A photo that represents you (upper left). To change your profile photo, click your profile photo, choose a new photo, and then choose Save.

Basic Info & Location

• Name
• Email address
• ZIP code

To change your Display name or ZIP code, choose the corresponding Edit button. If you want to change your account email or password, see Forgot CNN email or password?

Newsletters

Here you can subscribe and unsubscribe from CNN newsletters sent to your account email address. To learn more, see App notifications and emails.

Manage Account

If you want to delete your CNN account, choose Delete account and then choose Delete account again to confirm.

To access your settings:

• In the CNN app, choose Settings (gear icon, left edge).

Here you'll find the following options:

Account

If you're logged in with a CNN account, you'll see your account email and the option to log out. If you're not logged in, you can log in.

TV Channels

If you're logged in through a TV provider, you'll see your TV provider's name. If you're not logged in, choose Activate to log in through your TV provider.
